Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What does the Rental Price include?
    - Fully comprehensive UK insurance for 1 driver;
    - Unlimited mileage;
    - Breakdown cover;
    - VAT;
  2. Can I drive the vehicle?
    - we can insure drivers between 25 - 72 years of age who have held a full valid license for more than 3 years;
    - you can have up to 3 drivers per vehicle, your first driver is included in the rental cost, fees apply for each additional driver;
    - Additional fees apply to drivers with convictions, claims, higher risk occupations, non UK useage and foreign license holders;
    - you must hold an appropriate license to drive a manual car if hiring a manual car;
    - all driver(s) must be present to collect the vehicle;
  3. Can I drive with points on my license?
    - we can accept up to 2 sets of speeding fines per driver (i.e SP30) although there is an additional charge for points on license;
    - For more than 2 sets of points or for any points that are not coded SP's please contact us for appropriate fees;
    - we may not be able to arrange cover for convictions with the following codes: AC, BA, CD, DD, DR, MS, TT, UT and IN so please contact us;
  4. Is there a minimum hire period?
    - There is a minimum hire period of 3 days during the months of June, July and August;
    - We reserve the right to increase the minimum hire period at any time, please contact us for further details;
  5. How do I make a booking?
    - Bookings can be made over the phone or via email.  Please contact us to establish availability;
    - We will require a booking fee of £50 to reserve the vehicle or trailer;
    - The remaining balance will be due 4 weeks before collection of the vehicle or trailer;
    - If confirming a booking less than 4 weeks prior to collection the full amount is required;
  6. What charges apply if I cancel my booking?
    - More than 4 weeks before collection the booking fee is non refundable;
    - 4 weeks to 2 weeks before collection, 50% of the total hire charge is non refundable;
    - 2 weeks or less, 100% of the total hire charge is non refundable;
    - where possible we will endeavour to transfer your booking to another date, however this is at the discretion of us
  7. What time can I collect the vehicle or trailer?
    - Collection times are between 2pm and 7pm
    - Please allow at least 1 hour for the hand over to complete the documentation and demonstrate loading and unloading of the trailer;
    - Return times are betweek 9am and 2pm;
    - A late fee is chargeable for vehicles or trailers returned after 2pm;
  8. What do I need to bring to collect the car or trailer?
    - All drivers MUST be present on collection or deliver of the vehicle or trailer;
    - Full valid driving license (both the plastic photo card and the paper counterpart)
    - Passport;
    - Two of the following: utility bill, bank statement, credit card statement, council tax bill, telephone bill, mortgage statement, all dated within the last 3 month
  9. What is the security deposit?
    - A security deposit of £500 (£750 if also hiring trailer) is payable on collection or deliver of the vehicle or trailer on a credit or debit card;
    - The card holder must be present when collecting or delivering;
  10. Is there any excess on the insurance?
    - There is an excess of £100 on the insurance policy;
    - CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) can be taken out which will reduce the excess on the policy.  Full details can be provided on request;
  11. Can I take the vehicle and/or trailer to Europe?
    -  Yes, although additional insurance cover is needed.  Please contact us for further information;
  12. Do you deliver?
    - Yes, although a charge of 50p per mile will be payable;
